Alberto Ginastera (1916-1983) was Argentina's foremost 20th-century classical
composer, renowned for blending indigenous Argentine folk elements (like those in his ballets Panambi & Estancia) with modern techniques, evolving from nationalism to serialism and other avant-garde styles, and eventually settling in Geneva due to political conflicts in Argentina, leaving a legacy of operas (Bomarzo) and concertos.
